As of April 25, 2001 Salem turned a year old, he's a funny little dog, he's very quiet, never whines or barks without a reason, for example one day he was barking and growling when I went outside to see what all the commotion was about, there trying to get into his kennel was a turtle, this turtle had to have weighed a good 4 pounds or so, it's shell was almost as big as Salem's whole body...Another day he was outside all his barking and growling had us after a pack of 4 stray dogs trying to attack our other 2 dogs, an Australian Shepard and a Red Heeler, we do believe Salem was trying to get our attention...

                 When I flew out to Cameron Texas to meet Marion I had planned on bringing Orca back with me...But because she was in heat we decided against it, so here is my newest member of Orcinus Kennels...Kandu is 9 weeks old, but you wouldn't know it...Kandu is very out going, loves people, loves attention and certainly loves Salem...Salem has become very protective of Kandu and they have become the best of friends...I just love this smaller version (Tiny Tot) of the American Rat Terrier, they have no idea that their small...Kandu had no problems flying, he was quite content with the whole ordeal and has settled into our home...
